Childsmile is a national programme designed to improve children’s oral health across Scotland and reduce inequalities in both dental care and access to services. From around six months old, your child will be invited to attend regular dental appointments to help set up healthy habits from the start.
The programme is usually introduced by your public health nurse or health visitor, who can refer you directly to a Childsmile dental practice. However, you’re also welcome to contact us directly to get involved.
At Mastrick Smile Care, we can tailor a Childsmile plan to suit your child’s individual needs. This includes:
Oral health advice, including tips on weaning, diet, teething, and toothbrushing techniques
Annual dental check-ups and any treatment if needed
Fluoride varnish applications twice a year from the age of two
If you’d like to learn more about the Childsmile programme, feel free to get in touch — we’re always happy to help.
We’re a new practice and we’re now open for patients. To arrange an appointment with us, or if you have questions and want to find out more, please feel free to contact the practice, or register using the links below.
